Smoosh Goddess

Well, I'm still reeling from the loss of our beloved Zoe..but I wanted to bring some beauty to the blog. I scanned in this tag set from the Eclipse technique..or the smoosh. This is the Smoosh goddess..do you see her blonde hair and flowing dress, as she bounds across the universe?..

Eclipse XL

My sister called and requested the Eclipse effect on 8 1/2 x 11 glossy cardstock...OMG! Here's what I've done so far..

Memories Mists Eclipse Samples

So, if you have seen the Memories Mists Eclipse video on my YouTube page (link is to the right), then you'll recognise these samples. These were all made with the same technique of spraying mists on glossy tags and "smooshing" them together. The one above is my favorite..so far..in person it has all of these little channels of metallic that run through it. Meow...Now, if you haven't seen the vid..hurry up and watch it! :) tee hee.

This is one of the tag sets from the video. This is a combination of Strawberry Daiquiri, Iced Coffee, Pink Lemonade and Copper Shimmer..I don't know how or why I got the two faces..but I love the sphinx like quality!

This is the second tag set from the video. This one is a combination of an all Diet Cola (black) sprayed tag and one with just copper. After the pull apart I added Whipped Cream and then some colors..the colors pick right up on the Whipped Cream (white) and just pop!

This one also has the whipped cream and color pop!

This is an example of 4-5 layers of different colors. I just love the way they run together and then dry that way!

Close-up...

This one had a little bit of Ultra Clean cleaner sprayed on top..it makes the colors retract and you get this awesome space-y like background..:)

This one is Blue Martinie, Lavender Tea and Merlot on one tag, Whipped Cream all over the other tag and then "smooshed"..too cool.

I love this one..I call it Emperor...I see a penguin..:)

Another version of Ultra Clean sprayed after the "smoosh"

This one was one spray of Martini and then all black on one tag and then only Whipped cream on the other tag..the "smoosh" also seems to be sensitive to where your fingers are on the tag when you pull them apart..I think that's how I got the spiral in the center..I had my fingers firmly pressed right there in the center..

This is a sample of when you use a lot less ink...subtly beautiful.

This is a Gustav Klimt painting, Bluhender Garten...I don't think he had Mists..but o what he would have done with them! :)

I'm Back

Yeah, I'm finally back home after CHA! What a great show and a great time. It's always so nice to see and visit with all of my show friends..:) Well, I forgot to bring, of all things, my camera. I did get a disposible..so I hope to have some booth pictures up soon..The Memories Metallic mists went over really well. I think everyone was impressed with how quickly they dry..they are a blast to demo. I thought for today's post I'd share pics of the "booty" I brought home;

From Maya Road, a 12x 12 plastic mask..I can't wait to use this one with the Mists!

From Cosmo Cricket, Blackboard; Black core chipboard in journals and fun shapes! I started with a Feist hand cut stencil, a Club Scrap flourish stencil and the Mists in Silver, Whipped Cream and Diet Cola..mmm

and some goodies from my friends at Rusty Pickle, thank you Emily..I love the 12 x 12 chipboard die cuts..I'm going to go work on those now!

Close up shots of the Pirate and Spring Chicks Chipboard 12 x12's

This was a fun bonus..a mini Scor-it Board with travel case! Thank you Tim!

See you in Chicago..

Rubber Stamp Plantation

Here's a little montage of the samples I made for Deb at Rubber Stamp Plantation
http://www.rubberstampplantation.com/
They have a great line of Hawaiian stamps and now stencils!
I'll be leaving for Anaheim tomorrow morning and probably will not post again until I get back next week. When I do get back, I will have a ton of pictures and, hopefully, some more video of all of the excitement of CHA. For those of you not familiar with the CHA show, it is the craft industry's big trade event..where we get to show everybody our new products..and where we get to see what the big trends are and what everybody is excited about. I go on behalf of Stewart Superior, whom I work for. I usually demo for the entire time, which is four days, but this year we have some guest demo artists coming. Tricia Morris of Club Scrap, http://www.clubscrap.com/pgdrv2.cfm?c=ctv/ctv_main, is coming on Monday to show off her Memories Mists techniques. We also have Sheryl Eggelston from Cotton Creek Studios, http://stores.cottoncreekstudios.com/StoreFront.bok, teaching us how to stamp on fabric. She does beautiful work...

So, anyhow, be sure to check back next week..I'll be back with goodies!
